Vision of Paradise

She was something else. She was cute and clumsy and her smile lit up something inside of me that I never thought a dog would besides Vicky. Every day I left it time to make the right decision, each day she would run back to me, climb into my lap, kissed my nose and cheeks and anything she possibly could reach, wagging her tail as if life was all pure happiness, or she lifted her paws high up towards my face and listened to songs and stories and rambles of how adorable she is, while I stroked her tummy. One ear brown and one ear merle stayed up while I couldn’t decide what colour of eyes will stare at me for our little infinity together. There was a lifetime in front of us. And I smiled. There was nothing else but her and every moment she grew I painted her into our plans for the future more vibrantly and real. Vision of Paradise was from the start a very clear Vision of Vicky. And she couldn’t deny it. 8 years ago I fell in love with a puppy picture of Vicky and knew she was the one. The second time around it happened again but I didn’t want to admit it. She was beyond any doubt THE puppy I wanted and the puppy I needed.  If you told me a year ago I would breed to a smooth, I would laugh. If you told me I’ll keep one, I’d crack. Sometimes life pushes you strongly out of your comfort zone for extraordinary things, or heartbeats.
She is everything I have ever hoped for but never thought I’d have at once. And that’s okay, because she will be loved and accepted in any way her soul will wander.

I want you guys to meet Tuvalu.

TUVALU  is a Polynesian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It is a group of nine tiny islands; five of the islands are coral atolls, the other four consist of land rising from the sea bed. It must have been years since I came across it randomly and knew this was gonna be the name of my future puppy. No matter how many times I said it, mentioned it or told my friends about it; I loved it just the same. Isolated in the middle of Micronesia, Tuvalu is among the safest and most remote places in the world. It is the third least populated country on Earth, and the forth smallest. There are only a few places more distant from the world’s strife than Tuvalu.

I love the ocean and Vicky loves is just the same. Infinite, pure. Endless, and timeless.
Wave after wave, coming, silently laying on the shore, leaving. Coming again, with a different power, flowing to the shore… Leaving.
Each wave leaving a touch, shaping, designing the coast. Softly, patiently. Moment after moment, day after day, year after year. Teaching one important lesson, to love and let go.

Waves.
Coming and leaving.
Shaping and forming.

Creating the magnificent beauty of the beach.

Life comes at you in waves.
Bigger, softer, wilder.
All kinds.

Creating you.

And the island of Tuvalu is that piece of Paradise in the middle od the ocean. Just like Tuvalu has become another part of Paradise in my messy life.
She has this way about her. When you see her, you just know you’ve been missing out on some of the best parts of life.

Your face is my map of the world. Take me wherever your heart leads you.
