- Beau Taplin
It takes more than a pair of working lungs to call life a living.
My name is Anja Troha, I am 20 years old studying film and new media at Academy of fine arts and design, in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The country always and forever mistaken for Slovakia, difficult for lots of people to find on a map and known as the little tiny chicken shaped country in Europe.
My life, heart and soul belongs to dogs. I grew up with dogs my whole life and when I was 11 my family decided to adopt another one; Luna, a rescue beagle-mix. Her innocent brown eyes that still charm everyone made us fall in love with her not realizing that this meant our life would ‘’slightly’’ change. I have learned a lot from her as she is anything but an easy dog, but for that I am forever grateful for the lessons she has taught me.
However, inside I always knew that I wanted my own dog. Mine and only mine, the one I can pick and choose and raise as my own. After years of searching, and waiting, in spring 2010, a little border collie, sugar sweet; inside and out, looking as if she had been swirled in different types of chocolate, my miracle, was born. Jolly Vicky from Doggone Borders. She has opened my eyes in so many ways and forever changed my outlook on life.
Through blending my passions together I spend a lot of my time creating videos and photographing dogs, friends, my life and just whatever adventures life may bring. I am constantly trying to improve and expand my knowledge and I enjoy sharing my creations with the world through my YouTube channel and Facebook pages.
I started my own YouTube channel in 2008 with some very simple videos which grew into a little tiny production named after my biggest inspiration, Jolly Vicky. And there’s always more to come. As of 2013 I started offering photo shoots as I wanted to share the joy that having photos of my dogs brings me, with others.
I’m in love with starry nights, snowy hikes, chasing the sunset, lens flares, puppy smell and happy people, the outrageous beauty of the wild mountain, the forest and the ocean. I have this weirdly insane obsession with water caves. The new sights, sounds, scents and tastes. Those campfire conversations, never ending stories, the shared experiences, the making of life-enriching memories. I believe in simple living. I hate routine and I love changes. Always seeking undiscovered places, great adventures, different perspectives, spontaneous travels and exciting opportunities. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, learning from them and sharing my knowledge.
I have deeply hidden and inarticulate desire for something beyond the daily life.
I own a kennel called ”Doggone Jolly’s” established in 2014 with my very first litter of Border Collies. With the idea of my ‘ideal’ border collie, my wish is to continue breeding in the future as well.
As of 2014, Vicky and I are proud Ruffwear Ambassadors.
